Utah Greater Sage-Grouse Draft Land Use Plan Amendment and Environment Impact Condition can be obtained for Public Comment

Cover page for the Utah Greater Sage-Grouse Draft Environment Impact Statement On Friday, November 1, 2013, the Ashley, Manti-La Sal, Uinta-Wasatch-Cache, Fishlake, Dixie National Forests and also the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) launched the Utah Greater Sage-Grouse Draft Land Use Plan Amendment and Environment Impact Statement for any 90-day public comment period. The draft would potentially amend six Forest Service and 14 BLM land use plans.

The draft views five possible management options for maintaining and growing habitat for greater sage-grouse on Forest Service- and BLM-given lands in Utah. The options affect federal lands and minerals only, to not private lands. Alternative D may be the preferred alternative. Identification of the preferred alternative doesn't represent the ultimate decision of either agency. The ultimate alternative selected can include a mixture of objectives and actions from the options examined within the environment impact statement.
