4 out of 5 stars Helpfulness

(I didn't remember to consider photos of those, sorry, so here is a shot from the red-colored rocks which tower close to the lodge)

Park grub is frequently kind of costly and absolutely nothing to create home about but that is OK 'cause it isn't why you are there, right?

You will find 3 eateries within the Zion N.P, and are both at Zion Lodge. On trip #1, we attempted each of them:

• Breakfast at Zion Lodge's Red-colored Rock Grill one morning and located it so crowded, noisy, slow and pricey that people missed it the relaxation of times. The meals was good but simply not well worth the some time and $$. That one does see relatively good reviews, though, and also the upstairs deck is gorgeous on the nice day.

• Castle Dome Coffee shop (near the lodge's gift shop), which in fact had a good choice of quick food (sandwiches, sauces and drinks) but no indoor seating therefore it is only open seasonally. We hit that one tired and wet in the Narrows, coupled with sandwiches and brews around the sunny patio. It had been fine although not something I'd most likely do every single day, and that one can be really busy around meals. Even better, pack your sandwich for any have a picnic around the trail, around the lawn while watching lodge, or perhaps in the Grotto.

I've found it truly strange the lodge does not publish menus or prices for either.

Otherwise, drive/enter Springdale, or duck just outdoors the south gate towards the brewpub or marketplace for more options. To become fair, some vacationers are likely to find restaurants in Springdale generally just a little around the pricey side so if you want to stretch your budget, supermarket supplies along with a cooler are what you want.

If you are traveling kids, remember that you will find no fast-food chains in Springdale: MickeyDs, Hamburger King, Pizza Hut, Wendy's, etc. Nada. Not just one. This isn't a poor factor.
